Simpson Park
Dr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Simpson donated a 21-acre tract of land to the City on April 9, 1928 that became Simpson Park. The deed was presented to Mayor Harry Pardonner. At that time, the area was just north of the city limits. The deed specified the area was to be used as a public park and playground for children. The Simpsons hired a landscape architect to draw up plans for the park and even donated playground equipment made at the Chillicothe foundry as well as some tables and benches. And all these many years later we are all still enjoying it!
