Read, learn and enjoy Livingston County, Missouri history.

    A Livingston County group met multiple times for the Missouri Bicentennial leading up to 2021. One of our projects was to brainstorm ideas for the State Historical Society of Missouri's online Bicentennial Encyclopedia. We came up with over 50 ideas which was a bit more than the state committee had in mind for each county. While we did submit 5 topics to them, we decided to create our own online database for all of our topics and we keep adding more! Those participating included the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Chillicothe, the Grand River Museum & Historical Society, Visit Chillicothe, the City of Chillicothe, Livingston County, and Jim Jones. Much of the research work was done thanks to the Livingston County Library, Jim Jones, and the Livingston County Preservation Society.
